Theatre Scene Cape Town is Loots Digital's cultural enhancement initiative.Established 6 January 2012 it has grown as a platform where press info, reviews and interviews, as well as booking listings, are freely shared to promote the work of the theatre community in Cape Town and in so doing linking them up to theatre lovers as potential audience. As everything is digitally driven, the Theatre Scene Cape Town project however also goes further in also offering the theatre community the opportunity of requesting the organisation of #TweetSeats.
Where does the idea of #TweetSeats come from?
Why use #TweetSeats?
Tweet seats have the potential to establish a connection between theatres/theatre companies and the broader public.
When did Theatre Scene Cape Town host its first #TweetSeats event?
Theatre Scene Cape Town
South African theatres are slowly but surely starting to test the idea of #TweetSeats. Theatre Scene Cape Town has joined forces with Wordsmith's Theatre Factory and Kalk Bay Theatre in testing the potential of #TweetSeats in the hope that it will help get "bums on seats" for productions that are amazing but do not get the same publicity as your normal movie cinema entertainment. We experienced the biggest success so far at the Wordsmith's Theatre Factory opening evening of Grieta Kry Geleerdheid at the Artscape Theatre in May 2012, when #Grieta trended in Cape Town.
Theatre Scene Cape Town encourages the public to get off their couches and experience what Cape Town's established, as well as up-and-coming, artists, directors and producers have to offer. In short, Theatre Scene Cape Town's aim is bums on seats, specifically theatre seats!
